Misconceptions About Public Housing

So the story goes like this.  Big government tells little people that they should do a small thing to help people.  Little people get angry at big government telling them what they should do and try to fight it.  Big government wins by threatening to take away funding and promises not to make a big lawsuit of it.

Now let’s get into specifics.  The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) and Green Township (a small suburban municipality in the Cincinnati metro area) were being pressured by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  How it ended up with an ex-CMHA director calling someone a Nazi is a product of misconceptions of public housing.  Living in a post-HOPE VI society, public housing is not anywhere near as bad as it used to be.
